Mile High Salchata is a free, recurring Latin dance event held at one of Denver’s most stunning public park pavilions. The name pays homage to the “Mile High” city’s elevation while celebrating both Salsa and Bachata. Designed to bring the community together, these events feature beginner-friendly lessons followed by open social dancing in a beautiful outdoor setting. Whether you’re looking to learn your first steps or practice your style, all levels are welcome!
Parking: Park along the perimeter and walk toward the center to find the pavilion – you’ll hear the music!
Amenities: No permanent restrooms nearby, though a public porta-potty is available.
Water: Please bring your own water, there are no drinking fountains at the pavilion.
Safety First: If you are leaving the dance after dark, consider walking back to your car with a safety buddy. The park grounds can be uneven if you cut through the grass so your phone flashlight will be handy!

Why It’s Unique / Fun Things to Know
Come for the dance, stay for the friends! This community is famously friendly… they usually have a casual snack spread, so feel free to bring something to share with the group if you’d like!
This is one of the most unique places to dance in Denver! The Cheesman Pavilion Park is an 80-acre urban park in Denver, Colorado, named after Walter S. Cheesman, a pioneer who helped establish the city’s railway and water systems. The park features a striking neoclassical pavilion, formal gardens, a central meadow, and is also home to the Denver Botanic Gardens. Originally known as Prospect Hill Cemetery, the park was a former burial ground and its history is intertwined with the city’s development.
