Mile High Salchata is a FREE recurring Salsa and Bachata dance event that takes place in Denver, Colorado, drawing dancers to learn and practice Latin dance styles in a social setting. The name combines “Mile High,” referring to Denver’s nickname due to its 5,280-foot elevation, with “Salchata,” a portmanteau of Salsa and Bachata. The events often include beginner classes and open dance socials.

Why It’s Unique / Fun Things to Know

This is one of the most unique places to dance in Denver! The Cheesman Pavilion Park is an 80-acre urban park in Denver, Colorado, named after Walter S. Cheesman, a pioneer who helped establish the city’s railway and water systems. The park features a striking neoclassical pavilion, formal gardens, a central meadow, and is also home to the Denver Botanic Gardens. Originally known as Prospect Hill Cemetery, the park was a former burial ground and its history is intertwined with the city’s development.
